Star Chips
Star Spangled Salsa!
Easy * Delicious
Ingredients:
Package white corn tortillas
Canola cooking oil
Sea salt
Davey's Salsa - original or Hot
3" star cookie cutter
Cutting board
Directions:
Cut star shaped tortillas out of each corn tortilla.
Heat oil to 325 degrees in a deep fryer or electric skillet.
Drop stars into hot oil, being careful not to place too many per each batch so that they do not stick together.
When you can visually see that the stars have cooked on one side, take basket and shake to turn them over, or flip with a fork. Be ready to lift the stars out when they have cooked, but before they turn brown. Ideally, they should have a touch of brown around the edges. Drain on paper towel. Sprinkle immediately and lightly with salt.
Option: Bake chips instead of fry!
